Take back the Land!

Exodus 20 2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything.
Exo 14:12 Israel said to Moses, "Didn't we say to you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians'?
Num 32:13 The LORD's anger burned against Israel and he made them wander in the desert forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone.

Do you want to see heaven open up all around you?

One of the main obstacles in our taking back the land is: just like Israel, we actually think our slavery in Egpyt (read:old lifestyle in the world) is better than following God into the desert. We have to leave egpyt, and get all of the egpyt-ness out of us, before we can walk in an open heavens, which is the land promised to us.

Thy kingdom come, His will fully done, on earth just as it is in heaven. This is what revival is, this is transformed communities just like the book of Acts. Paul said that unless the whole city is transformed unto heaven on earth, the gospel has not yet fully prevailed. This is happening in other nations right now!

Jesus said in John 15 if you abide in me, in my presence all day long, you will be in union with me, and whatever you ask shall be done, I will bring my will into your life, and transform it, I will make you just like Me. But for us to abide, we have to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and truly follow His leading.

An idol is defined as something we turn to for comfort that is not Jesus. It is so hard for us to let go of these idols, because we are slaves to them, the same way Israel preferred their slavery in Egypt. We are an idolatrous people, we will rationalize many arguments to keep them, and that is why we do not yet have an open heavens. The Lord is marching us around in this desert, trying to get the Egpyt out of us, so that he can take us to the Land. But we cling to these idols, and it causes us to not abide in Him. We must find our rest in Him! Exo 33:14 The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

A little godly entertainment can be good, if it's smaller than how much time we're spending with Him. But if it causes us to not abide in His presence, we are in sin. James said if you know what's right, and you don't choose it, it is sin. But the point of the desert lifestyle is that all you have is Him! And it's in that place of abandonment, that the heavens do open and you take the land promised to you. I submit that there is no other way.

Peter abided in the Holy Spirit of Heaven, and His very shadow would heal this sick, because He brought heaven to all that was around Him. There is no sickness in heaven. Which would you rather have, your idols or heaven breaking out in you, your church and your city?

Joh 1:51 He then added, "I tell you the truth, your descendants shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
